Resin Oleo Extracts-Fragrant & Therapeutic

We have been infusing resins into fixed oils for thousands of years. These infusions represent our first and most ancient perfumes, cosmetics, unguents and therapeutic balms. They are in our genes.
Many tree resins such as Frankincense, Elemi, Pine and the soft Copals contain an abundance of therapeutic compounds that will dissolve into carrier oils creating fragrant, medicated oils with a wide range of therapeutic and cosmetic applications.

These oleo extracts can be applied directly to the skin, diluted in carrier oils or used as one ingredient of many in cosmetic and therapeutic formulations. They can also act as the oil portion of a water/oil emulsion and creme.

For instructions on how to make your own therapeutic oleo-extracts, please see my post here-https://apothecarysgarden.com/2014/07/30/how-to-make-a-whole-extract-of-frankincense-and-other-oleoresins/

I prepare most of my oleo extracts at a ratio of 1:3 in Fractionated Coconut oil which has an indefinite shelf life and requires no preservatives. They are ready to use.
