Frankincense Neglecta essential oil is distilled in Ethiopia by a friend and master distiller in small batches. It is an unusual and rare Ethiopian Frankincense, little known, and rarely available in our North American market.
Frankincense Neglecta possesses the traditional and unmistakeable “core” fragrance of the Frankincense family that we are all familiar with, but brings with it a surprising soft sweet note that reminds one of the delicate facets of Frasier Fir or Black Spruce essential oils. Both the resin and essential oil are thought to alleviate anxiety, heaviness and tightness of the chest when used externally.
B.Neglecta has traditionally been used for many of the same applications as other types of Frankincense, topically for wound healing and respiratory complaints, and as most other members of its family, it has been used for centuries in ceremony, ritual, and to consecrate sacred spaces. Both the resin and essential oil are valued fragrance ingredients.
Ruled by the Sun, as all its kin, the essential oil of Frankincense Neglecta adds a special touch to masculine fragrances with its sweet woodiness, rounded out with a soft balsamic Vanilla like note. Grounding and elevating. Calming yet inspiring, it possess a refreshing “Frankness”, clearing to the mind and body. It specifically helps alleviate tightness in the chest, especially due to anxiety and stress.

“A wonderful representation of the resin, especially where scent is concerned, in essential oil form. Working with the whole resin first made it easier to notice the differences when comparing it to the oil infused resin, especially where some of the anti-anxiety & physical tension relief properties are concerned, although, personally, I’ve found this EO to act as strongly as needed for anxiety during each application, while the whole resin infused oil had a consistently strong effect every time, but the EO fully wins hands-down where “kicking in” is concerned, as even with how quickly the infused oil kicks in, the EO’s effects are felt & start working in seconds & making it a wonderful emergency go-to – even to calm extreme anxiety from attack levels to manageable ones.
