This is an unsorted mix of large, beautiful and very fragrant Royal Hojari Frankincense tears, the premiere Frankincense of Oman.
I call it the Royal Family Hojari since it contains a blend of the Royal green, Royal Red and Silver Hojari types.

Though they are the same quality as the very expensive Royal Green, Royal Silver and Rotlyal Red Hojari. they are not graded or sorted into their respective colour groups.
Rather than sorting them by hand in the studio and charging a higher price, I decided to package them on their own as a more affordable alternative to the Royal Green, and Royal Red Hojari in the shop.

Their fragrance lovely and they provide an excellent introduction to the premier Frankincense types of Oman.

They can be chewed, infused overnight for a tea, or burned as incense.

Traditionally reserved for medicine, high-end incense and tea, Royal Hojari tears share a bright, sweet, Ambery, Piney, citrus scent.

A staple of churches, Mosques and temples around the world, Frankincense Sacra resin is traditionally used as incense and medicine.
This Frankincense is one of the types that contain Boswellic acids which have been shown in laboratory studies to be anti-inflammatory and cause apoptosis in a variety of cancer types. Green Royal Hojari is highly valued in traditional Arabian folk-medicine.

Boswellia Sacra is ideal for the preparation of incense blends, therapeutic oils, salves, cremes and tinctures. In many Arabian cultures, it is infused overnight in water, ( a teaspoon of tears to a cup of room temperature water), and sipped throughout the following day for its therapeutic qualities. Botanically, Boswellia Sacra from Arabia and Boswellia Carterii from East Africa are considered the same species. However, visually, aromatically and chemically they set themselves apart from each other. For this reason, I distinguish this resin from Oman as Boswellia Sacra.
