Description
I have always been intrigued by the odor of Skunk spray. Though more often than not, it is simply too much to digest when met head-on in its full glory, I have wondered at its perfume potential, well diluted and in minute quantities. What would it add to my fragrance palette? Could it bring that special something to a fragrance that nothing else would?
Though I haven’t gotten around to exploring the full potential of Skunk in natural perfume as much as I would have liked yet, I still keep some in my perfume organ at different dilutions.
It is a promising and intriguing material I look forward to working with further.
Skunks are traditionally trapped for their fur by aboriginal hunters and trappers in North America. Often there is no use for the scent gland. This offers us a way to honor the animal and use a part of it that may otherwise be discarded. It is an available resource that has little value in any market. Its purchase benefits those that work in the wild and who are often the stewards of our wild places and animal populations.
Made with fresh Skunk glands tinctured in alcohol, a minute amount goes a long long way.
I have found the full strength tincture can only be worked with once diluted to at least 1:50 with alcohol.
You will find the pre-diluted tincture here.https://www.etsy.com/listing/653280351/skunk-perfume-tincture-2-natural

Very happy with this. It's really strong so you need to be careful with it. If you are looking at this chances are you know what you're looking for. Good stuff. It meets my expectations and matches the description.

Skunk perfume? Yup! it is! Full strength is a bit powerful but lasts a long time. Use very sparingly on your neck and see who notices it!

Imagine loads of garlic and onions are distilled to concentrated oil… That's what you get from this oil… Not suitable for perfumery … It smells exactly skunk

If ever there were a doubt about the authenticity of Dan’s products, order his tincture of Skunk glands and prepare to be blown away – quite literally. See, I’m a somewhat regular customer of Dan’s, as his products are ALWAYS top shelf. Utterly flawless. But if there are doubters out there, one whiff of this product will set them straight – after their regaining consciousness, of course. I haven’t even opened the bottle; I have it wrapped in about ten alternating layers of plastics and cotton cloths of varying thickness; all of these coverings and containers are stored in a multiply-layered box, constructed of cardboard and plastic stabilizing structures; and the aroma still escapes. Well done, Dan! Another treasure. Not sure what I’ll do with it yet, but it’s a necessary addition to my collection. Try the muskrat & civet, too!

A little goes a VERY LONG WAY. Hahaha… this stuff is very interesting, but be warned, the projection is crazy, even from the closed jar. I had to put it in two ziplock bags and then store those in a sealed glass jar to contain the odor. I haven't tried mixing it into anything yet, but I can imagine it would need to be at a dilution of a drop into a quart or more of liquid.

Beautiful! I’ve sent some to a dear friend and she agrees as well. It is now aging nicely and will bring a complex quality to my creations that I’ve long been missing. I cannot thank you enough Dan.

I had been absolutely drooling over getting my hands on this stuff for months. It is such a scent journey! I'm a firm believer that even the most 'awful' of scents possess properties or notes or molecules that can be useful or at least educational, and I was NOT disappointed. This stuff goes from an initial impression of hot spicy garlic chopped by an amateur hand and dull knife, to a beauuuutiful evocative nostalgic green note of absolutely fresh-mown lawn with a touch of popcorn, to an afterscent of tar and slightly burnt popcorn! I love it and can't wait to use it in something wonderful. Thank you.
