I'm so glad I found this styrax essential oil because I can use it as a benzoin substitute in my perfumes. Benzoin comes in a resinoid format which is difficult to use in perfumes, it makes the perfumes sticky and hard to disffuse the scent, which doesnt happen with esential oils.
the smell is almost exactly the same as benzoin.
very interesting smell, it was very strong at first sniff but in lower dilutions its very floral and fruity, almost resembles styrax. it also has vinyl or pool floatie undernote or an indolic jasmine, with a resinous base close to white mastic and frankincense.
Now I really like this variety. So much so after 15 minutes after it arrived I ordered a Kilo!!

This is an absolutely awesome scent! It's my favorite of the ones I bought (although all are excellent) and I'll definitely be coming back for more. Scents are so hard to put into words, but it's easy to see why this one has been treasured for millennia, it's really wonderful, like sunrise over the Namibia Mountains.
Like the one I just reviewed below (Bushman's Candle bark) this is an awesome, beautiful scent. I had a Himba friend and if I could post her picture that would be the best description of this scent, just gorgeous!
