Also called a resin absolute, Black Storax absolute blends beautifully with alcohol and with carrier oils! This means it can be used in Balms, grooming products, oil-based & solid perfumes, cremes, medicated and aromatic oils, soaps, candles, and more.
A dab of Black Storax Absolute blended with a small amount of carrier oil, makes a lovely and ready-to-wear perfume.
On an incense heater, Black Storax Absolute will yield many hours of aroma as one slowly raises the temperature throughout the day.
Also referred to as a Resin Absolute, this is a thick, fragrant, honey-like liquid that contains ALL the fragrant compounds present in Liquidambar orientalis, i.e., both the essential oils and the aromatic resin.
Prepared by warming and dissolving Black Storax resin in food-grade 95% alcohol, then evaporating the alcohol from the vacuum filtered liquid tincture at a very low temperature to preserve all the aromatic compounds.
Black storax Absolute acts as a fixative and heart note in perfume compositions, anchoring more fleeting and volatile scents. It is also helpful in incense making as a binder and aromatic ingredient since it burns clean and sweet.
