Fragrant Rosewood Chips

Fragrant Rosewood, Dalbergis odorifera, is endemic to China and used in traditional Chinese medicine to dissipate blood stasis, regulate the flow of qi, and relieve pain.

Fragrant Rosewood has a sweet, spicy, woody aroma with smooth, buttery, lactonic floral undernotes when burned as incense.  

Though these chips are not mainstream perfume or incense material, they offer an interesting and unique fragrance profile for the adventurous aromatic artist. They can be powdered in a coffee grinder or tinctured for perfume and incense use in high-proof alcohol. 

A tincture can be prepared with powdered chips for perfumery and incense-making. However, its robust, deep red colour will transfer to the alcohol. Of course, this can add colour to your incense blend or perfume if you so wish.
