A rare member of the Myrrh family from the Island of Socotra, Yemen, home of Medieval Dragons Blood and other unique indigenous aromatics.
Used locally as medicine and incense. C. Kua is also used to perfume clothing and body, and rightfully bears the name of scented/sweet and perfumed Myrrh.

When burned as an incense on the coal, Kua Myrrh exhibits an aromatic profile that is quite different from its sisters, Myrrh, Opoponax, C. holziana, Kataf and Erythaea and adds an unusual twist to compound incenses.

Akin to a complex perfume, the aroma of smoldering C. Kua is musky, sweet, sultry, seductive and deep. To me, it is reminiscent of catching a sensuous intimate whiff of a stranger. This Kua Myrrh is one of my favorite resins for burning. It's a rich satisfying scent that lasts for days after burning.

This one is indeed complex, giving you the sweet muskiness of the finest Yemani myrrh, with strong secondary notes of vetiver and mild mint. It is stunning and has staying power, too. You can still smell it in the room a full day later and it seems to age like wine, smelling better and better all the time - a very unique phenomena which alone makes it worth trying.

It’s hard to decide the right words to say when reviewing this incense. Dan’s description is quite apt, and I can only second the descriptors used, such as musky, sweet, sultry, complex, deep, and sexy. It’s most definitely an aphrodisiac. I use kua myrrh on a daily basis, and I use it to perfume my coats and jackets. I receive compliments everywhere I go. People ask me, “What are you wearing? It’s sublime,” or some other similar compliment, on a regular basis. I also want to remark on the consistent high quality from Apothecary’s Garden. I’ve been sold chunks of tree trunks with small amounts of resin, that people have called myrrh. All I can think is how those people don’t seem to care about damaging the trees they’re harvesting from. Dan’s stuff is all pure resin, and it’s high quality. I know he uses reputable sources, people who care about the trees that supply us with this sacred resin. He also consistently overweighs so I know I’m always getting more than what I’ve paid for. There’s truly nobody else I’ll even consider purchasing my resin from anymore. Once you’ve tried the best, nobody else compares.

This was my first time buying myrrh, frank...

This was my first time buying myrrh, frankincense and burning charcoal pucks to burn them on. I can't compare them to any previous purchases, but both aromas are lovely and help put me in a calm, meditative state and the charcoal pucks are fast lighting and a great product. I got the smallest pucks. Next time I will probably purchase ones that burn for longer.
