Cedar of Lebanon Shavings-Fresh

There is no mistaking the unique aroma of Cedar of Lebanon. Cedar of Lebanon  was one of the most valuable commodities of the ancient world. It is mentioned in the great Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh. King Solomon used it to build the Temple. The Phoenicians built their fleets of ships with it and traded the wood of the Cedar of Lebanon around the known world.

Although the Cedar of Lebanon is a protected species, this material comes from a small, intentionally managed plantation in Southern Europe, where the trees are cultivated and harvested for unique crafts, and the fresh shavings are collected for sale. Nothing is wasted. This material is entirely sustainable. The consistency is of fine shavings. Not quite a powder and highly aromatic.

For many applications, Cedar of Lebanon shavings are a more practical, sustainable, and conscientious choice than essential oil, which, due to the scarcity of this tree, is not produced commercially and is not available on the market.

As an alternative to the essential oil from this rare tree, an alcohol tincture made from the shavings proves to be an excellent substitute, delivering the full spectrum of the tree's aroma profile to perfume blends.

This is also an excellent material for incense blends, potpourris, sachets, steam inhalations.

The ability of cedar wood to retain its fragrance for years is well-known. Thus we find cedar chests and cabinets, often decades old, still retain their aroma. The shavings will last for a long time in the resealable pouches they came in. Just make sure to keep them out of direct sunlight in a relatively dark, dry and cool place.

Please note that our ounces are not the 25 grams that most sellers offer, but 30 grams. All helpers in the shop have standing orders to always put a little extra in each bag and never less. Our regular customers have come to rely on this. So if your formula calls for an accurate amount of an aromatic material, please weigh our products before using them. You will find there is always a bit more.
