I have personally collected resin from the tree shown in the product photo. That said, it takes years until a Dragons Blood tree will yield a substantial amount of resin.

There is nothing that connects us to nature and our materials like growing and tending the plants that give us such wonderful gifts.

Plants, indeed, will communicate with us, and there is truth in the concept of plant allies. However, it is up to us to initiate and establish giving, nurturing and mutually reciprocal relationships with them first. Germinating and growing a plant and tending to its needs is a wonderful way to strike up an enduring, meaningful and mutually beneficial relationship.

How to germinate your Dragons Blood seeds

Dragons Blood seeds benefit from soaking for 2-5 days before sowing. Place them in a well-drained pot with a seed-starting mix, or sterile potting soil and cover lightly with soil.

Place in a warm spot at between 18 to 25 degrees centigrade and keep them moist without saturating the soil. Covering the seeds with clear plastic tent with some ventilation is a good way to maintain the humidity level.  They need warmth, humidity and bright light to germinate which can take 2-3 months.

Once they have germinated, transplant them gently into a pot with well-drained soil in  bright light. They can benefit from direct sunlight once they have acclimatized.

Dragon's Blood seeds are sustainably harvested from the ground after falling naturally from the tree.
