Frequently asked questions

Some questions and answers are automatically generated.

Will this work with resins without heavy smoke?
Yes. Many reviewers confirm they get fragrance without the smoke and charred scent of charcoal burning. One asthmatic customer notes this method allows them to burn incense safely during meditation.
Do I need to crush the resin first?
Yes, for best results. Several reviewers discovered that crushing resin into powder with a mortar and pestle is essential—it allows the tea light to heat the resin effectively. Without crushing, the resin may not melt properly.
What type of tea light works best?
Slightly taller tea lights work better, and several reviewers report success with beeswax candles specifically. Some find standard tea lights need adjustment—you may need to place a thick coin underneath the tea light to raise it closer to the tray for effective heating.
Does it produce much smoke?
No. Reviewers praise this heater for delivering fragrance with minimal to no smoke, making it a cleaner alternative to charcoal burning.
Is the copper tray easy to clean?
The tray does accumulate residue and requires periodic cleaning. Reviewers recommend using foil to line the tray to minimize cleanup, and suggest scrubbing the copper with warm water, soap, lemon and salt to restore it.
How long does the fragrance last per candle?
Many reviewers report hours of scent release from a single tea light burn, much longer than burning incense on charcoals, making it economical.
Is it safe to use around pets and children?
The unit gets very hot during use. The product description and multiple reviewers emphasize keeping it away from curtains, cats, kids and other flammable materials, and never leaving a lit burner unattended.
Does it work with wax melts too?
Yes. One reviewer confirms it works well with wax melts in addition to resins.
Tealight Incense Heaters open up a whole new dimension of experience when it comes to appreciating resin incense and other aromatic materials.

Where charcoals burn hot, generate a lot of smoke and consume incense quickly, incense heaters can often deliver hours of aromatic experience that is all fragrance and not all smoke.

Tealight Incense Heaters are solidly constructed from steel and copper, these burners are easy on the eye, stable and work well.

This is my new go-to burner in the house.

To keep the burning tray clean, I cut out a 2-inch round or square from aluminum foil and press it into the heating tray to form a little bowl holding hot liquid resins within it. Be mindful that the tray is boiling when the heater is on, and do not press the foil into the tray with your fingers when it is hot! Wait till the burner has completely cooled before moving or replacing the foil.
Precut foil squares, rounds and cups are available on Amazon and eBay.

Some important notes on using Tealight Incense Heaters are great for enjoying the aroma of resins and Bakhour without the heavy smoke and charred scent of burning incense on coals.-

-Resins containing water-soluble gum, such as Myrrh, Scented Myrrh and most Frankincense, must be coarsely crushed before burning.

-Always use the cork base. The unit gets very HOT and may damage whatever it is sitting on.

-Do not touch the tray or the stand while the burner is lit. They get very hot very quickly and can burn your fingers. Wait till the unit has cooled down before repositioning it.

-Some tealight candles work better than others. Slightly taller tea lights are best. If you find your resin isn't burning properly, either replace the tealight or place a thick coin under the tealight. Beeswax candles work well but are expensive.

-Periodically scrub the bottom of the copper tray with warm water and soap to remove the lampblack residue that accumulates. It can eventually insulate the tray and reduce effectiveness.

-Always keep Tealight Incense Heaters away from curtains, cats, kids and other flammable materials!

-Do not leave burners with lit candles unattended.

Enjoy!!

Dan

Perfect for beginners

Easy to use, and doesn't take up a lot of space. Works good for me after some trial and error with candle height.

Works well for me

This works well for me, but like any such device it needs to be evaluated to obtain the required result. In my case I use Bee's wax Tea lights, this is because of their non toxicity and they combat indoor air pollution by releasing negative ions. Because a beeswax candle has a high melting point of approximately 149° I have to make adjustments to the length of the wick to obtain optimum results. Although I would suggest this is the case for most any tea light an tea light burner.
Additionally I use a non toxic liner for the tray to avoid having to clean it after a burn.
