Ivy Resin

Ivy resin has a beautiful, intense, complex and rich Green aroma. Even though it is bitter and slightly acrid, it possesses soft sweet caramel-confection notes and lovely light florals hovering in the wings.

It has a delightful and enchanting aroma raw, in a perfume tincture and when burned on the coal.

Ivy resin is a very unusual and rarely found aromatic resin that can provide perfumers and incense makers with an excellent natural "Green" note.

Ivy incense resin. This aromatic resin was collected from Hedera canariensis Ivy vines of North Africa.

Please note that all fresh parts of all plants in the Ivy family contain toxins that can cause contact dermatitis.

Though I have heard of no one reacting to contact with this resin, it is always best to proceed cautiously.

Somewhere, someone will react to every natural product and material.
Please consider this information and treat this material with caution and respect.

Packaged in a reusable metal tin that will keep your resin treasure fresh and aromatic for an extended period.

The Ive vine is an ancient symbol often banned from use by the church due to its extensive use by pagan cultures.

Ivy is dedicated to the Gods Osiris, Bacchus and Dionysus.

Ivy is a symbol of fidelity, devotion, commitment, longevity and tenacity.

Ivy resin, Hedera canariensis, grows natively in North Africa through Turkey and Iran.

We had to process this resin extensively before packaging it by freezing, crushing, sifting and manually separating the abundance of tiny pieces of plastic bag that were mixed into the resin. (At room temperature, this material is extremely sticky!!)

These bits of bags indicate to me, that the Ivy resin is collected in very small amounts by multiple collectors and it is not commercially grown or harvested.

I don't know if I will be able to get more of this unique material so get it while you can.

It may be difficult to remove your Ivy resin from the plastic wrapper. My workaround is to place the bag in the fridge or freezer for 15-30 minutes before attempting to separate it from its package. After chilling, it will detach with ease and without leaving any material stuck to the wrapper.

Fascinating! It's almost more of an experience than a smell, with a very strong, almost banana-pepper ending. Not sure if I have the finesse to use it yet, but glad I picked it up.
