A recent bout of oral surgery reminded me why Myrrh has been valued so highly for thousands of years. At times it was worth its weight in gold!
A simple Myrrh tincture should be in everyone's medicine cabinet. The utility and effectiveness of Myrrh tincture for all oral issues cannot be over stated.
Addressing among other things, loose teeth, inflamed gums, Gingivitis, Thrush, Halitosis and sore throat, the range of oral issues addressed by a simple tincture of Myrrh in a saline mouthwash is extensive.
Myrrh tincture is a homemade remedy that is easy to prepare. And here is how.
A traditional Myrrh Tincture mouthwash is made by adding 1/4 teaspoon salt to 1 cup hot or warm water. To this saline solution add a half teaspoon of Myrrh tincture. Stir and witness an emulsion where the water soluble gum and the alcohol soluble resin portions of the Myrrh homogenize and make themselves available.
You cannot swoosh too much with Myrrh mouthwash. Recuperating from oral surgery, I found Myrrh Mouthwash was the only thing that eased my discomfort.
A batch of Myrrh mouthwash can be used over the course of a couple of days without spoiling. If you make more than you can use in 2 days, keep it in the fridge.
You can make a tincture of Myrrh from any of the 3 Myrrh types in the shop. The Yemen Myrrh is a little bitterer, the Suhul Myrrh a little sweeter and the Ethiopian Myrrh is somewhere in between.
You will also find Myrrh powder in the shop. I have Gold Standard Myrrh powder and the Apothecary Grade Myrrh powder that I prepare from Suhul Myrrh.
If you can't make your own Tincture of Myrrh, here is a link to mine.
And remember-Always take clear notes!!
Your future self will thank you.
